Secondhand Prose Bookstore in the Northwest Reno Library
Secondhand Prose is a unique hidden treasure of a bookstore and gift shop that opened in 1999. The store is located at the end of the Gallery at the Northwest Reno Library. Secondhand Prose is operated and managed entirely by volunteers of the Friends of Washoe County Library.

Proceeds from this unique entrepreneurial operation benefit the Washoe County Library System. At Secondhand Prose we carry a choice selection of gently used books. Stop in to browse through our fiction and non-fiction selections, vintage and collectible titles, gift books, and children's books.
We have selections of books on Nevada and the West, books for the home and garden, classics, books on tape and CD, classic movies, arts and crafts, and bargain bins, too! Book stocks are replenished twice a week ensuring that the selection is always fresh.
We also feature gifts for the bibliophile including journals, note cards, attractive pens, amusing paperweights, loads of bookmarks, book lights, flat magnifiers, our signature Secondhand Prose tote bag (only two left so hurry in to buy yours!) and T-shirts with book-related quotes in assorted colors and sizes. We have educational, craft and play items to amuse the younger set, too. At the holidays we feature ornaments and stocking stuffer items.
