About the Friends
Founded in 1980, the Friends of Washoe County Library is a member-supported 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advocating, fundraising, and providing support for Washoe County Library System. We offer the community a chance to invest in the success of the Library by donating funds or volunteering. We raise money and our voices to ensure a first-class public library for Washoe County residents.
From our Board of Directors, our enthusiastic members, and our generous donors, to our extraordinary volunteers and the thousands of people who benefit from the free programs and art galleries supported by the Friends of Washoe County Library, we are what the name implies: a collection of committed and caring friends, committed to a shared vision of a free public library that will remain accessible to all for generations to come.
